A scrumptious tea followed by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Spread a Smile treated 18 children and four teenagers with their families to a magical afternoon tea on 10th September inspired by Roald Dahl’s feted children’s book at One Aldwych followed by a trip to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
After scrumptious treats at the tea including Golden chocolate eggs and Homemade candy floss, the families enjoyed the performance of the ‘deliciously dark’ musical directed by Sam Mendes.
Parents of Chloe Balloqui commented after the event, ‘Chloe was allowed to leave UCLH last night for a few hours. She was invited to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the theatre by Spread a Smile. She was so excited and really enjoyed it. Thank you for a great evening.’
Thanks to Joe Public Marketing for the tickets, the staff at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane and to all of the staff at One Aldwych who made the families especially welcome.
