Fearne Cotton and Pudsey visit Seriously ill Children and Teenagers at UCH
Television presenter Fearne Cotton visited seriously ill children and teenagers at University College Hospital (UCH) on 9th March 2016 along with Pudsey Bear to celebrate BBC Children in Need’s grant to Spread a Smile.
Fearne Cotton and Pudsey visited children and teenagers on the T11 Oncology ward, T12 and The Teenage Cancer Trust unit at University College Hospital. During the visit, which lasted a couple of hours, the children were delighted to meet Fearne Cotton as well as Pudsey and be entertained by our entertainers.
We are thrilled to receive support from BBC Children in Need over the next three years, which will help us entertain seriously unwell children and teenagers in hospital.
Fearne Cotton commented, ‘It’s fantastic to visit UCH for Children in Need with Pudsey today and to see the magic Spread a Smile’s magicians and fairies bring.’
Christine Theodorou mother of Theo a young patient at UCH said, ‘ Theo loved Fearne Cotton’s and Pudsey’s visit to UCH. His face said it all when he saw Pudsey. Thank you for all the work you do putting smiles on all of the children’s faces.’
Irene O’Donnell, Play Services Manager at UCLH said, ‘Today’s visit from Spread a Smile has brought so much joy and fun to the children and young people here at UCLH. They loved all the entertainers and the special visitors Fearne Cotton and Pudsey. It really helped take their mind off being poorly.’
