Spread a Smile and Marine Ices deliver ice cream to patients at UCLH
We teamed up with Marine Ices earlier this week to deliver 100 ice creams to the children and teenage patients at University College Hospital in London. Thanks to Marine Ices, this was a really great opportunity for us to be able to make an extra visit to the hospital and bring more smiles to the children and teenage patients.
We were joined on the day by our mascot, Buddy Bear, who was made very welcome by everyone at UCLH.
Our founders, Josephine Segal and Vanessa Crocker, said “the ice creams went down really well and were welcomed by all. It was lovely to see the patient’s faces light up as our mascot, Buddy, handed over the ice cream – and chocolate was definitely the most popular flavour. Usually we take entertainers onto the wards to brighten the days of the children undergoing often gruelling treatment so it was great to work with Marine Ices to be able to pay an additional visit to UCLH and create even more smiles.”
Ed Myatt from Marine Ices said: “It was a pleasure to supply Spread a Smile with ice creams they could deliver to patients at UCLH. We are happy to be able to contribute to their amazing work in any way we can. They are a perfect charity for us to support as we’re neighbours on Chalk Farm Road.”
We will continue with our ice-cream drop at UCLH once a month.
I can't really explain just what a great charity it is and we as a family are grateful that you Let us make special memories. I wish we had known about you when my brother was alive. Please tell everyone.xxx
So thank you to everyone at Spread a Smile
